If no one opens it, it is not a plan.

Most Business Continuity Plans fail for the same reason: they are too long, too complicated, and designed for compliance rather than action. They sit on a shared drive, reviewed once a year by the BC team, and ignored by everyone else. When a real disruption occurs, no one has time to search through 80 pages of procedures to find what they need.

Fixinc takes a different approach. We build plans that are practical, well-designed, and easy to use under pressure. Every element is there for a reason. Contact details, escalation pathways, checklists, and recovery actions are structured so any member of staff can pick up the plan and understand what to do. We remove the noise and focus on what actually helps during an incident.

Design matters more than most organisations realise. Companies like Apple and Microsoft invest heavily in usability because they understand the psychological impact of poor design. We apply the same thinking to business continuity. Our plans are delivered digitally, optimised for mobile access, and available via your Client Portal. Everyone has their phone on them during a crisis, so your plan should be accessible from it.

Plans are reviewed annually as part of ongoing program maintenance to ensure they remain current and aligned to how your organisation operates.

The Tungsten Diamond.
A simple way to manage the resilience life-cycle.

Overview

The Tungsten Diamond is our framework for corporate resilience, built to simplify complex concepts and ensure nothing critical is missed. It reflects global best practices, yet it’s flexible enough to adapt to any organisation. Every Fixinc service and discipline including Business Continuity Plan maps to this model. Its simple layout helps proffesionals see the full picture of where you are, and what’s next on the resilience journey.

More on the Tungsten Diamond

Business Continuity Plan fits into the Planning phase of the Tungsten Diamond.

An organisation looking to meet best practice resilience needs to be able to prove they have designed, planned, and validated all components of the Diamond. Whilst important, Business Continuity Plan is only one part of the Planning layer.

Respond with confidence

When things go wrong, this phase activates. The Diamond’s top layers focus on structured, coordinated response, from executive decisions down to team-level action. Here’s where tools like F24, defined roles, and real-time communications bring planning to life under pressure.

A stronger return to BAU

The end goal isn’t just recovery, it’s learning. After every disruption, this phase ensures lessons are captured, plans are updated, and culture is strengthened. It’s about returning to operations quickly, but better prepared for next time.

Planning made practical

This phase includes disciplines like business continuity, crisis management, and IT disaster recovery. It’s where the bulk of the work happens, through structured validation, simulations, and repeatable testing. For those looking to lead in their sector, it can also align with ISO accreditation and industry standards.

talk to our team

Fixinc can review your existing plan and provide feedback on its structure, usability, and alignment to best practice. However, when we develop a BCP, we use our own proven methodology and templates. This is what clients engage us for. Our structure is designed to be practical, modern, and aligned to ISO standards.

It typically takes a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on the size of your organisation and how quickly we can access the information we need. We are efficient, but we do not rush these. A BCP is an important document and we take the time to get it right.

We will need access to key stakeholders who understand your operations, dependencies, and recovery priorities. This often includes business unit leads and your project sponsor. The more available your team is, the faster the process moves.

Fixinc will walk your team through the plan once it is complete, ensuring they understand its structure and how to use it. Formal training programs are available as a separate service called Business Continuity Training.

The plan is delivered digitally and accessible via your Client Portal, including on mobile devices. Everyone has their phone on them during a crisis, so your plan should be too. Printable versions are also available if needed.
