Disciplines that define your resilience A modular approach to building your New Zealand CIMS program.

New Zealand’s CIMS framework standardises incident response across agencies, ensuring clear roles, coordinated actions, and effective communication during emergencies. It enhances collaboration and improves crisis outcomes.

To support organisations in achieving true resilience, we provide 4 New Zealand CIMS Disciplines that would - if validated annually - ensure true resilience. Each discipline can be adopted individually, but in most cases will form the majority of your New Zealand CIMS program with Fixinc.

When you first engage us, we review the progress of each of these Disciplines within your organisation to determine your current capability.

The Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) is New Zealand’s official framework for managing emergencies and incidents across multiple agencies. CIMS 3 is the current standard, focusing on shared structures, roles, and processes to ensure a consistent and coordinated response. Training in CIMS 3 provides participants with practical tools for managing incidents of varying complexity, enhancing interoperability between organisations, and improving clarity in roles and communication. It's essential for any organisation involved in emergency response or working with government and emergency services in New Zealand.

We do New Zealand CIMS the same way we run our own business; by simplifying processes, going back to first principles, and standardising programs so anyone at any time can adopt how you plan and respond to a disruption. When you engage in a New Zealand CIMS program with our Advisors at Fixinc, you are embarking on a partnership that is a collaborative effort, held together by strong and reliable communication. We're not your usual consultancy, we're something different, fresh, modern with a focus on the people that make up Australian, New Zealand, and Malaysian business.

Yes, we can. In New Zealand, accreditation for Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) training is provided by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). NZQA oversees the quality assurance of education and training providers, ensuring that CIMS courses meet national standards. Training providers (like Fixinc) must obtain NZQA's consent to assess specific unit standards related to CIMS, such as Unit Standard 32158 (Level 3) and Unit Standard 29553 (Level 4). Upon successful completion of these accredited courses, learners receive nationally recognised credits recorded on their NZQA Record of Achievement.
