ITDR
OceanaGold operates in some of the world’s most high-risk environments. From the cyclone zones of North Queensland to the volcanic hills of the Philippines and the mountainous terrain of New Zealand.
As a global mining company with complex supply chains, tight operational dependencies, and strict environmental and regulatory obligations, OceanaGold needed a business continuity program that could do more than tick a box. They needed one that worked in practice, across multiple jurisdictions, and that reflected the realities of mining operations, from remote comms to environmental hazards and unplanned shutdowns.
Fixinc worked with OceanaGold’s key stakeholders across Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines to design and implement a company-wide business continuity framework tailored to the mining sector.
Our engagement started with a series of Business Impact Analysis Workshops, helping operational leaders and critical support teams map out dependencies, downtime tolerances, and upstream/downstream impacts of disruption. Although OceanaGold did not specifically license the tool, we leveraged our Digital BIA Tool to ensure findings were centralised, accessible, and easy to update.
Once the BIA data was validated, we supported:
What made this program different was its practicality. Every recommendation, procedure, and activation step had to work in a mine site context, often with limited connectivity, mobile-only access, and long response timelines. We worked closely with on-site teams to ensure plans could be executed by those with both field knowledge and crisis responsibility.
OceanaGold now has a standardised business continuity approach that can scale across locations and respond to site-specific threats without losing cohesion. Plans are embedded into daily operations, with local leaders trained in activation and recovery workflows.
The company has a clear line of sight between enterprise risk, operational impacts, and recovery priorities and a program built to evolve with changing threats.
For a company that lives and works in risk, resilience is now part of the operational DNA.

Fixinc is immensly proud of our client base and the personal, one-to-one connections we've made through these partnerships. There is no better source than word of mouth, that's why we encourage reference checks and reviewing case studies.
With dozens of locations and high public traffic, Stride needed to refine its emergency and continuity plans, without replacing the systems and people already working hard to protect them.
With critical assets across Australia and a responsibility to deliver during extreme conditions, EDL partnered with Fixinc to tighten up crisis protocols, align leadership, and validate their resilience program through practical exercises and planning.
After a high-profile disruption shook the organisation, Optus partnered with Fixinc to simplify continuity across departments, align ITDR strategy, and embed a culture of resilience into every layer of the business.
Fixinc has gathered dozens of passionate clients who are prepared to vouch for our service. Even if you don't have a proposal or program with us, we can arrange a reference check.
